Our tallow balm is a simple, handmade anhydrous skincare product crafted from grass-fed tallow and natural ingredients. It deeply nourishes and protects the skin’s natural barrier without water, preservatives, or synthetic additives.

What ingredients are in your unscented tallow balm?

It contains only five ingredients: grass-fed Bos taurus tallow, Cera Alba (beeswax), Simmondsia Chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, Cannabis Sativa (hemp) seed oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), and Helianthus Annuus (sunflower) seed oil.

We also offer a scented version where we add a small amount of pure essential oils (Grapefruit, Bergamot, and May Chang) to the same base formula for a subtle natural aroma.

What are the benefits of using tallow balm?

It provides long-lasting moisture, helps strengthen the skin barrier, softens rough or dry areas, and leaves skin feeling supple. Many users report smoother, more comfortable skin with regular use.

Why is grass-fed tallow good for skin?

Grass-fed tallow is highly compatible with human skin because its fatty acid profile (rich in oleic, stearic, and palmitic acids) closely mimics our own natural sebum. This allows it to absorb deeply and effectively replenish the skin’s lipid barrier.

It naturally contains fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K, which support skin renewal, elasticity, and overall skin health. Tallow helps lock in moisture, soothe dryness and irritation, and restore softness, making it particularly beneficial for dry, mature, or sensitive skin. Unlike many plant oils, its stable saturated fats provide long-lasting nourishment without feeling overly greasy.

Is the balm scented?

We offer both unscented and a scented version. Our classic unscented tallow balm contains no essential oils or fragrances, making it ideal for sensitive skin and those who prefer fragrance-free products. We also offer a lightly scented option with pure essential oils for customers who enjoy a subtle natural aroma.

Why is tallow balm better than most commercial creams?

Most commercial creams are water-based (often 60-80% water), requiring emulsifiers, preservatives, stabilisers, and synthetic fillers to prevent separation and extend shelf life. These additives can irritate sensitive skin and reduce the overall nourishing effect.

In contrast, our tallow balm is completely anhydrous (water-free), made with 100% natural ingredients. This means it delivers richer, more concentrated nourishment that lasts much longer on the skin. It forms a natural protective barrier, supports the skin’s own lipid layer, and avoids the need for potentially irritating chemicals — resulting in deeper, longer-lasting moisture and better skin compatibility.

How should I use the tallow balm?

Take a pea-sized amount and gently rub and warm it between your fingers, before gently massaging in to clean, dry skin. Use on face, hands, elbows, heels, or any dry areas as needed.

Why don’t you make tallow balm with honey?

Honey is water-based while tallow and oils are fat-based. They do not mix well and can cause separation or spoilage. Adding honey would require preservatives and change the natural anhydrous formula.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. The minimal-ingredient, fragrance-free formula makes it a popular choice for sensitive or reactive skin. Always patch test before first use.

Can this balm help with skin conditions like eczema or dryness?

We do not claim any medicinal or therapeutic benefits, and our tallow balm is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any skin condition.
